Emerald green velvet purse on a jeweled vintage frame by Ed B Robinson

There's just something about velvet that communicates elegance and sophistication. This purse is somewhat on the simpler side and yet it is very formal and dressy. This velvet evening bag will require you to put on your finest for that special event. Velvet is not the easiest fabric to photograph, I fear my photos don't do it complete justice.

Nonetheless, my pictures do show it well enough to give you a proper idea of what to expect. This custom hand made evening purse will arrive in a rich emerald green velvet. The nap is fairly plush and basically, you will just want to hug this purse. The velvet has a nice, softly reflective, sheen and this purse carries with a soft medium hand, cuddly and pliable. I patterned the shape of this handbag from an old velvet purse that is no longer usable. I even stitched in a layer of cotton felt batting, in between the velvet and the lining, to give this purse more body and handling appeal. This is a really cute purse in a nice quality emerald velvet and anyone looking for this color should be very pleased to own it.

I pleated the purse onto this golden toned frame that I acquired from the estate of Ed B Robinson. It is vintage 1940 - 1950 and comes in like new condition, as it was never used. It has a lovely arrow brushed finish on the top edge, sorry I didn't get that to show in my photos and the clasps are tipped in emerald glass faceted jewels, a perfect match to the velvet.  There is no gusset on this purse but because of all the pleating, this handbag still offers enough room for your essentials. I lined the interior with a tan beige rose embossed satin and added one double walled pocket for your smaller accessories. Stuffed with tissue, this purse measures 5 3/4 inches from the tip of the clasp to the bottom, 10 inches at it's widest, the side depth is about an inch and a half, the frame is 7 1/2 inches across and the lovely serpentine chain handle drops the purse by 6 inches. If you love velvet evening bags and emerald green is your color, you will appreciate this custom hand stitched purse. It's simple......serene......elegant.
